 Fun Stuff

A weather tongue-twister (Try saying it out loud)

Whether the weather is cold,

Or whether the weather is hot,

Whether the weather is dry,

Or whether the weather is not,

We’ll weather the weather,

Whatever the weather,

Whether we like it or not.

Activity idea: Have a pretend power outage!

Not sure what to do one evening? Pretend there’s a power outage! The rules are simple:

  • No lights (use flashlights or candles)

  • No TV, video games, or internet

Now what? That’s up to you. Grab a flashlight and look around your home for fun things to do. Get out a deck of cards. Rediscover a board game you haven’t played for a long time. Make shadow puppets by candlelight. Read a book under the covers by flashlight.

Electricity is great, but spending a few hours without it can be fun too. Pretend a big thunderstorm just swept through your town. It’s a good chance to do an activity you haven’t done in a while. Losing electricity encourages us to try new things.

So find a flashlight, turn out the lights, and rediscover something you used to love!
